Original Monterey shades are very hard to find in general. When you do find them , they are usually in need of repair and have to be handled delicately. These two shades are copies of one original that I repaired a while back. They are a very specific size that is needed for chimney style lamps. #montereyfurniture#customshades#ranchostyle

This coral colored native salvia blooms in fall and reseeds easily throughout the garden. In my opinion, this is the best color combination

In my opinion, this is the best color combination and design that I have come across. Although the damage is severe in areas , this coffee table is well worth the time it's going to take to get this rare piece back to its original beauty. Think of it like an old painting. Remove the top coat. Then fill, texture, and touch up. This one is going to take some finesse since most of the painting is blended. Music by Bunny Berigan. Died at 33yrs old. A friend of mine asked if I could help him finish

A friend of mine asked if I could help him finish a lamp he had designed for his bedroom. He also had an old shade frame that needed to be redone. Have you ever had so many tiny cool paintings that get lost on the wall ? I love this little 1920s California painting and decided to incorporate it into a small bookcase that I was building. I have a mulberry bush that needed trimming, so I used the twigs in this bookcase / art piece . The materials used by artists in the 1920s and 30s can vary. Some artists painted on canvass, some on wood panels or on masonite. This is neither. I'm sure it was chosen for its texture. Unfortunately, it had some damage and needed some tender loving care. The wire was added for strength. I finally was able to try out my new used saw and made a custom frame for the unique piece. # artrestoration
